Customers of National Bank PLC will be able to access all banking services from 15 October, covering cash withdrawals, counter services, mobile app, internet banking and ATM facilities across Bangladesh.

The decision follows a meeting on 8 October between National Bank chairman Prof Melita Mehjabeen, acting managing director Zahidul Haque, and Bangladesh Bank governor Md Mostaqur Rahman, attended by deputy governors Md Habibur Rahman, Md Kabir Ahmed, Md Sarwar Hossain and Md Anis Ur Rahman.

Governor Rahman stressed the need to protect depositors' interests and maintain public confidence in the banking sector, instructing National Bank to ensure withdrawals as per demand.

At a board meeting on 8 October, the bank's management was directed to implement full services from 15 October, ensuring uninterrupted access for all customers.

Chairman Prof Mehjabeen highlighted recent governance improvements and senior management changes aimed at enhancing efficiency and capacity, noting that good governance has been established through recent Bangladesh Bank initiatives.

She said, "With the overall cooperation of Bangladesh Bank and the coordinated efforts of the board of directors and the management, National Bank is returning to customer service at full pace. We are sincerely grateful to the customers who have stood by us patiently for a long time."
