Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has deployed a total of 33 platoons across industrial zones in Dhaka, Gazipur and Narayanganj on Sunday, responding to escalating workers’ unrest.
The BGB statement said the deployment is intended to maintain law and order, strengthen security in industrial areas and prevent further incidents.
In Dhaka, troops are stationed in the Savar, Ashulia and Mirpur industrial districts.
In Narayanganj, BGB units are overseeing security at Shibu Market, Jalkuri, the BSCIC Industrial Estate, Chashara, Kanchpur and Shimrail.
In Gazipur, the forces cover the Chandra, Palli Bidyut, Mouchak, Ambag, Kashimpur, Naojor, Bhogra Bypass, Gacha and Salna sites.
The BGB headquarters’ monitoring cell is tracking field operations and live footage through technology‑based systems, officials added.
Deployed personnel remain on high alert and are coordinating with local administrations and police. The BGB said the operations will continue to ensure a safe and stable working environment, protect lives and property, and uphold public security.
