Bangladesh Air Force Chief Air Chief Marshal Hasan Mahmood Khan toured a German defence manufacturer and participated in a Czech Republic air‑force conference, underscoring Bangladesh’s push to modernise its aerial capabilities.
From October 18 to 20, the air chief visited Diehl Defence’s MSAN production facility in Röthenbach an der Pegnitz, Germany, where he met senior company officials and exchanged views on technology and procurement.
He also inspected Grob Aircraft SE’s plant in Tussenhausen‑Mattsies, attending working sessions on technical and commercial matters that pertain to the Grob aircraft currently operated by the Bangladesh Air Force.
The Inter‑Services Public Relations (ISPR) said the engagements are intended to maintain the capability and effectiveness of those aircraft within Bangladesh’s fleet.
Following the German visits, Khan travelled to the Czech Republic from October 20 to 23 at the invitation of the Czech Air Force commander and the chairman of the Future Air Force Conference.
In Prague, he attended the fourth edition of the Future Air Force Conference, where discussions focused on modern warfare technologies, including armed unmanned aerial vehicles, counter‑drone systems, electronic warfare, multirole light aircraft and advanced sensor suites.
The conference also examined emerging challenges facing participating air forces and the broader contemporary security situation.
ISPR indicated that the visits are expected to strengthen Bangladesh’s defence relations with Germany and the Czech Republic and expand professional cooperation in aerospace and security domains.
